A walk on Snowdon, six miles on the Pyg Track and back down the Miners Track.

Thursday morning and a nice walk coming, we set off for Pen y Pass and arrived before eleven but the car park was full, the warden said Nant Peris car park and get the eleven o clock bus so off we went. Lucky day the parking machine was bust so on the bus we got and back at the car park we were ready to go. Off up the Pyg Track we went, round the corner and we see Snowdon or do we, it looks like Snowdon but it is actually Crib Goch. We rise quite quickly and the views down the Llanberis valley are very good, we have always seen them from the bottom up not top down. Before long we come to a junction of paths and here go the brave, The Crib Gochers but not for us we are heading for the junction of paths where the Miners Track joins the Pyg Track. It was a lot more of a climb than we were expecting but we were soon there, a break for lunch sitting with magnificent views and then we head off down towards the lake below, a hairy descent but we made it. From here it was down hill all the way passing two more lakes and the old quarry workings as we went. Before we knew it we turned the last corner and there is the Car Park, all we need now is a bus. A good days walking nearly six miles in good weather.
