Five miles Circular walk around Llyn Padarn

We parked at the Pen y Llyn end of the lake in the layby on the old road. Then we walked towards Llanberis on the old road soon picking up a footpath on the left which drops down onto the cycleway. Soon we are walking past canoeists, paddle boarders at the water sports centre, eventually coming out onto the main road for a short while. Picking up the path again we walked on the waters edge until we come to the Slate Museum a good path all the way. We sat and had lunch on one of the bench's by the museum before carrying on up to the old hospital. Here the path is down the side of the old Mortuary where we entered the trees and the climb up, there are a couple of view points spoiled by the trees growing over the years. As we start to go down the path splits, we took the right hand path down to a gate and over an old slate workers bridge (made of slate slabs) and then started to climb again. From here for a while is the detritis from the hippy type people living in the woods, they do not seem to understand rubbish disposal, soon we come to a sharp right hand bend here the path goes into the trees and up to a gate on the lane that we now follow back to the car. Along this lane are numerous cottages some renovated some not, some very nice, some not. As we passed a familiar white cottage the old man was not there, we had stopped and spoken with him a couple of times when we passed but not today. We had walked for a while and there was the old man, I said to him we had missed him, he remembered us to, he had been for a walk to. As we walked down the hill we bumped into Lurch with a little boy, he was a giant with a funny hat on.Then we came across the RAF mountain rescue team parked up in a layby and then before we knew it we were back at the car, slightly wet but having enjoyed a good walk.
